A Young Academic Achiever In Need of Your Help!

As the famous artist Buju Banton would say, "it's not an easy road." Those words have described my journey thus far. My name is Uhraine Miller and I am an eighteen (18) year old ambitious young man who was accepted to NorQuest College in Edmonton, Canada, to study Business Management Operations. It has always been my dream to uplift and influence those around me. To show the youths of my community, Seaview Gardens, and the wider society that regardless of your background you can be whatever you put your mind to. However, those thoughts and dreams have been forced to fade day by day. Why? Well, having a financially challenged family and enormous dreams can be compared to a nightmare. I have tried working, saving and contributing to my tuition on my own, but it appears all my efforts were in vain. I was successful in paying my application fees and tuition deposit, as well as having documents transported from Jamaica to Canada. I thought everything was going to be smooth, but I met a huge roadblock. Due to financial reasons, I am unable to leave my country to go and study. My semester starts in May, but unfortunately, they don't have a deferral process, which means that once I miss the start date, all that I have spent would be gone to waste. I am asking, "Please help me avoid going down that path." I want to study. I want to bring my ideas to Canada and get back home to create a much better Jamaica, and most importantly, I want to take my mentally ill mother off the streets. It has never been a comfortable sight passing by on public transportation and seeing my mother roaming the streets, and being unable to fix that. I need a change, and this is where it starts. I appreciate any amount you can contribute. These funds will go towards my tuition of approximately 40,000 Canadian Dollars for both years. On the other hand, I would personally like to say thank you to all donors.
