A Wish for my Wife: Aly’s Life Changing Surgery
Donation protected
My 30-year-old wife, Alyssa, was diagnosed with ventral brainstem compression and upper spinal instability (her vertebra partially dislocates). We’re raising funds so her US neurosurgeon can stabilize her spine on April 8th [UPDATE: Postponed due to pandemic]. We’re not aware of any surgical experts on her specific conditions in BC.
I have watched her quality of life decline steadily, and it’s my wish that we can get my Aly back.
I wish Alyssa’s heart wouldn’t break when our two-year-old son begs her to come play outside. I wish she could come with us to the zoo, or to skating lessons. I wish she could join us on her favourite family activity, forest walks. But right now, her day consists mainly of resting and lying down to prevent severe headaches, neck pain, near-fainting episodes, vision problems, and tremors, to name just a few symptoms.
We have high hopes this surgery will help Alyssa get back to being herself, and the Mom she wants to be.
Thank you for your support!
