A Wig will change a life
Donation protected
My beautiful daughter is my hero. Not only has she lived with coordination challenges and learning difficulties that have placed many difficult hurdles in her path she then got alopecia at the young age of 8 years old. By the time she was in year 6, 2 months after her 11th birthday she lost all her hair. First from her head then from her entire body. It has never grown back. She has been wearing a wig ever since.
This condition although not life threatening has stolen so much from her most of all her self esteem and self image. Her teenage years were heartbreaking as she struggled to find value in herself and boys are not something she even believes is a possibility.
After the humiliation of her wig flying off in strong winds, at netball games and at school during gym activities, Never going to the beach or swimming with friends etc we finally found a wig that stayed on her head in all conditions. This came with a cost of $5500 with each wig lasting 3-4 years. As a single mum this put a big financial strain on the family.
As a young adult she has attempted to get her life on track but this financial burden is debilitating. She has started university which is an accomplishment in itself but has seen her reducing her work hours and consequently her income. Last night she discovered that her wig is about to split in half. She needs a new one immediately but has no money to pay for it.
Anything you can help with is greatly appreciated and will help her move forward.
Thank you in anticipation
