Cruising with Keylly!

Donation protected
Meet our sweet Keylly, a five year old ray of sunshine that we met last year when she transferred into our school district. We were introduced to Keylly by her parents, who were young, Spanish speaking, new to the country, and worried about their little girl. Keylly was born in El Salvador, and because of the lack of medical care and resources in the area they lived, they were not even clear on her diagnosis. All they knew was that she couldn't walk, talk, sit up, feed herself, or even hold her head up. They were told by the doctors that she may have cerebral palsy, but in their country they were not provided any testing, evaluations, or therapies for Keylly.

They came to the United States with many questions, and the only thing they knew for certain was how much they loved this giggling, adorable little girl. We quickly fell in love with her too, and decided to do all we could to help this girl and her family. Because she was not eligible for state insurance, we secured her Charity Care at Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia (CHOP) and an all day visit to the cerebral palsy clinic in Philadelphia. Keylly now receives physical therapy, occupational therapy, feeding therapy, neurological services, and urologic care. Her parents diligently take her to every appointment, and care for her by themselves at home. But there are still things keylly needs- things charity care does not cover and her parents cannot afford.

Keylly needs a custom wheelchair for safety and mobility, a bath chair for her home, splints for her hands, and braces for her legs. She needs a stander and a gait trainer to strengthen her legs and help her to learn to walk. Right now, Keylly has none of these medical necessities because her parents simply do not have the thousands of dollars it will cost to buy them. Keylly has missed out on five years of the crucial therapy and intervention she should have had, and we need to make up for lost time as quickly as we can. Imagine seeing your beautiful child struggle and do without access to the medical care and equipment she so desperately needs.

Please help, in any way you can. Keylly always has a smile on her face, and we can't wait to see her parents smile when we wheel in her brand new wheelchair. Thank you in advance for your generosity and the gift of your compassion.
