This is my niece, Sylvia Holtz. She is being raised by her Father, my Brother Don Holtz. He is a single Father because when Sylvia was only 21 months old her Mother took her life.
Don took Sylvia to the doctor yesterday because she had been having headaches and her right arm starting shaking. The poor thing couldn't even eat with that hand. The Doctor sent them right to the hospital for an MRI. They found a brain tumor the size of a golf ball. It is called Pilocytic astrocytoma tumor.
Last night they put in a draining tube to drain off the fluid. Next week they will either biopsy or remove it. Sylvia is in ICU at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY where they live.
The reason I am asking for help for them is my Brother will not be able to work for quite awhile and has no paid time off at his job, not to mention the medical bills that will be piling up. Anything you can do to help will be very much appreciated!
