I have purchased a home in Rosebud, and I aim to eventually make this my permanent home.
For now and at least until my son finishes school in six years' time, I will remain in Melbourne and use the house as a weekender/holiday home.
I have only just managed to get together the deposit and upfront purchase costs. I need to undertake some very basic renovations, for which I do not have the budget.
The renovations are essential due to water leaks and damage caused by years of neglect. They include a new kitchen and bathroom, replacement of all existing tile flooring, new side gates and other repairs. I also need to remove two non-native, problematic large trees from the property.
If you can help me out with funding these renovations, in return, you will have access to a lovely holiday home on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
The house is within walking distance to Rosebud beach and jetty. It is also centrally located to the shopping area of Rosebud, the cinema, and pub.
It will be able to house 4 people in the bedrooms, with capacity for a few extra in the living room.
It has a lovely back yard with native trees and a deck to watch the kids play cricket, or enjoy a peaceful glass of wine.
You’ll have somewhere to enjoy all of the delights that this unrivalled part of Australia has to offer: hot springs, wineries, dolphin watching, stunning walks, surfing, horse riding, berry picking, fishing, and of course… swimming, diving and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of the Bay.
The amount of time the house will be available to you for your exclusive use will be on a scale proportionate to the size of the donation. I have calculated this to be competitive with the cheapest current rate of holiday/Airbnb rental available. There are no additional cleaning, booking or linen fees.
Bookings will be subject to availability and at a negotiable time that suits you.
I will make begin making bookings upon completion of the renovation works, which I hope to be before the end of 2017.
I would endeavour to meet all commitments before the end of 2018. However, there will be no expiry so if you don’t claim your booking/s during 2017/2018, I will hold open for you indefinitely.
