A Truck for a Family (and village) on Lombok
Donation protected
Our family from Australia and America was deeply touched by the ingenuity, generosity, and life-loving nature of this family of potters on the island of Lombok in Indonesia. The wish for a truck to help transport mountain-harvested stone to their village came up casually in conversation.
The stone is currently transported over many trips on motorbike to the pottery village, which is labour intensive, costly, and environmentally damaging. Wanting to give back to this family and their village by helping them to purchase a pick-up truck , we are starting this crowdfunding campaign. A truck could help not only this small family business but their whole village as the truck would be used to transport more than stone for crushing into clay. It would also carry rice and other food to feed families, transport people who are ill to medical help, and provide access to many other things that are a great challenge for this village that only has motorbikes.
Please see their website for the work they have created for themselves. They are entrepreneurs. They are artists. But above all, they are a village of people who lead their lives with love, laughter, generosity, and gratitude. A donation to their cause is a deposit into what is best in the human spirit.
