A Tribute for David Prittie

This page began in July 2018, as a grassroots effort to raise funds for the naming of "something" at The Flea Theater in honor of David Prittie. Thank you to Kyle Chepulis, who shortly thereafter came up with the perfect thing to name: the Donor Wall. As most of you know, the Wall is a project David worked incredibly hard on, and left uncompleted at the time of his sudden and tragic death.  

I met David through The Flea, and started this campaign because I wanted to make some kind of permanent mark that showed how many others came to love and respect him thanks to their association with The Flea. If you’re reading this, you know how David gave his heart and soul to The Flea in so many ways – as a craftsman, an artist, an appreciator, a partner, a visionary, a strategic thinker, a mediator, a problem solver, and a loyal friend. He was integral to The Flea’s founding, and his intellect, spirit, warmth, and aesthetic are woven into its very DNA. This campaign will ensure he is woven into its very bricks and mortar too. 

I did it as a GoFundMe so it could stay separate from The Flea's own fundraising apparatus, and so that everyone who loved him - from Poor Richard to Daddy Warbucks - could have a hand in making it happen. The goal is to match or surpass my own $5K pledge, made in July 2018, with another $5K (or more!) made up of $10 - $500 gifts.

Whatever you're able to give, your contribution won’t be just a drop in the bucket - anything is meaningful. If you met David through The Flea, and your life was better because of it, please join me in making this permanent mark for him.

All of our names will be listed in some way, although I don't quite know where or how yet and much of this will be up to The Flea... but I will take full responsibility for making sure this happens.

Naming things is powerful. The specificity of it, the permanence of it. Please join me in naming something for David.
