A Taste of Heaven: Mary Kinsey

Donation protected
One day, it will become clear that saints were walking among us on this Earth. While we did not realize it at the time, these saints sat beside us at basketball games & church picnics. They coached the soccer team and worked in the concession stands. They did ordinary things but with extraordinary love. “How could they be so generous and self-less,” we would quietly wonder to ourselves? “I wish that I could be more like that.”

Preferring to work behind the scenes, these humble servants approached their daily tasks with generous hearts and profound joy. They sought no recognition for their efforts because serving others was joy itself.

And then in a moment of blissful clarity . . . . . we will learn that Mary Kinsey was one of them. Mary was a saint walking this Earth who was called home to Heaven on July 12, 2022. It is a privilege to have known her, enjoy her friendship, and experience a “Taste of Heaven.”

A Taste of Heaven” is a fundraiser established by Friends of the Kinsey Family.

We establish this fundraiser with love, admiration and honor to benefit Mary Kinsey’s two precious boys: JJ, a Junior at Gibault Catholic High School, and Danny, an 8th grader at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School.

Unexpectantly and abruptly, Mary’s life on this Earth ended on July 12th when a truck failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Mary’s vehicle in Millstadt, IL. Mary was killed instantly, leaving her two boys without their beloved mother. As a single mother, Mary worked full-time as a nurse and tirelessly supported her boys making all of their activities her top priority. Mary’s boys were her entire world. Despite her busy schedule, Mary woke early to exercise each morning. She gave her talents generously to support athletics at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School as the President of the Booster Club and has served as the Chairperson of the Ss. Peter & Paul Church Picnic. The loss is overwhelming for these young boys who must face the future without their beloved mother. Through God’s grace, Mary has raised resilient young men who will need our support now more than ever.

Catholic education has always been a priority for Mary, as evidenced by her generous volunteer efforts. We want to honor Mary’s legacy by establishing a fundraiser to ensure that JJ and Danny continue to receive the high-quality Catholic education their mother desired. While the goal for the fundraiser is focused on education, the funds may be used to benefit the boys for any purpose at the family’s discretion.

A fund has been established for the boys, "The JJ & Danny Kinsey Benefit Fund" c/o James Donley and contributions can be made through this site or locally at State Bank of Waterloo.

We respectfully and prayerfully ask that you consider donating to the “Taste of Heaven” fundraiser for the Kinsey Family.

With your donation, you will help fund the educational expenses for JJ and Danny Kinsey and preserve Mary’s legacy by supporting her love of Catholic schools that will continue in her boys through God’s grace and your generosity.
