A Surprise Fund for MacKenzie’s Study Abroad



For those of you who know MacKenzie Hardesty, you understand how deep her love for others truly is. Kenzie is one of the most selfless, brilliant, and inspiring individuals that I have been blessed to know; and share a womb with, haha! Kenzie is a rising junior at Christopher Newport University majoring in Criminology, but more than that, Kenzie is someone who dedicates her time not only to her studies, but her community too. During the academic year, Kenzie splits her time between her academics, her sisterhood with Alpha Delta Pi, and most selflessly, she makes time to travel the three hours home to assist at her home base fire station, John H. Enders Volunteer Fire Company. Kenzie is just that, one who volunteers their time to help her surrounding community as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Kenzie is passionate about the service she is able to provide and is proud to work among many incredible individuals at Enders, including our own father, David Hardesty. Kenzie dedicates much of her time in the summer to Enders, working as a volunteer who simply loves what she is able to do for others in her community.
This coming September, Kenzie will be travelling across the world for her study abroad experience at The University of Glasgow in Glasgow, Scotland alongside some of her good friends who also attend Christopher Newport University. Kenzie is so hardworking and is so deserving of her study abroad experience that will further her passion for people and new experiences.
Any donation will help Kenzie make the absolute most of her experience and give her a sense of relief for the costs of the trip. With her time being spent volunteering at Enders and much of her other time providing for family members, she does not have much space in her day to hold a full time job to be able to fund her trip. If you know Kenzie, you know she does not ask for anything, she always puts others first. I believe as her twin and someone who has the privilege of getting to witness her talent and passion firsthand, that she deserves to put herself first every once in a while, and I want to do just that. To celebrate and cherish someone’s selflessness and be able to maybe even give back for what will be an experience of a lifetime.
