A surf community in Sierra Leone needs your help!

The fantastic story of the growth of surfing in Sierra Leone has recently come to the attention of our team at SurfEars. After coming through one's of Africa's worst civil wars, surfing took to many locals around Bureh Beach in Sierra Leona, who, like so many, used it as means to gain pure join and escape the hardships of life and past trauma. Surfing became so popular that a community-run surf club was soon established in 2012. The surf club thrived for a few years, with profits returning to the community and providing a means to help pay for things like local children's school fees and purchase more surf equipment to get more people in the water.

However, in 2014 the Ebola pandemic effectively stopped business for the camp, and when it was starting to get on its feet again in 2018-19, the Covid-19 pandemic brought things to a crash again.

Right now, locals are still managing the camp, but it is in desperate need of a little renovation and new equipment to help attract tourists and get more locals in the water.

Your donations would be so appreciated by the local community, who love and enjoy surfing as much as anyone.
