Support a Student of Knowledge in Turkey
Donation protected
As-salāmu ʿalaykum,
My name is Zakariyya and I am seeking your assistance in fundraising for a dear brother of mine, Omar Elsayed, who is currently studying and seeking sacred knowledge in Turkey.
Omar is currently a student at Maʿhad al-Ṣaḥābī Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī (formerly known as Dār al-Funūn) in Istanbul, Turkey. He is in his first year of a 4-5 year program.
I am respectfully requesting your support to raise the listed amount to aid him with some of his expenses for the current academic year.
Alḥamdulillāh, I am fortunate enough to speak to Omar regularly and I’ve come to realise that seeking sacred knowledge is not cheap.
As such, I suggested to Omar the idea of me fundraising for him and he consented. As such, the idea for this GoFundMe came about.
I had previously asked Omar for an idea regarding his expenses and this is a summary of what he mentioned:
• Monthly rent. Due to limited space and expenses, the Mahad he studies in has not been able to accomodate him in their student housing, so he’s had to rent an apartment with a few students.
• Food/groceries.
• Books. As a student of knowledge, he is required to purchase a variety of books, either for assigned study or further reading, and books can naturally be a bit pricey.
• University fees. It has recently become very difficult to gain a residency in Turkey, so the way he has navigated this was through enrolling in a university course in one of the Turkish universities, which has a year-long Turkish language course pre-requisite at additional fees.
What has been listed above only covers part of Omar’s expenses for the year.
For those who are not currently blessed with studying overseas, supporting someone who is is one of the best and most blessed things to which one can contribute. Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated by Omar and generously rewarded by Allāh Subḥānahu wa Taʿālā.
Your brother,
Zakariyya
