A street cat named Nightingale
Donation protected
Hi
My name is Jo and I’m passionate about animals (all animals) on my way home through Dunmore I passed a little cat sitting outside a takeaway. He was in a horrendous state, skinny, dirty, clearly congested with cat flu and an oozing bald infected wet patch on his back.
I decided I couldn’t leave him there as it was clear he would not survive much longer and quickly took him to a vet.
After some tests Nightingale was sadly also found to be FIV positive (feline immuno deficiency virus) This is incurable but is not necessarily a death sentence either.
Nightingale has received antibiotics, anti inflammatory meds, flea and worming treatment and creams for his hot spot (bald patch)
He is currently being kept at Glenamaddy Vets but his vet bill is rising. Currently they stand at €200 but he is likely to be there a bit longer.
Long term I have found a home for him but he will have ongoing medication for his FIV and will require special care.
He is an older cat who’s had a rough life and I am asking people to donate to help with his vets costs and to give him a more comfortable life going forward.
Thank you in advance
