<div>“On May 29, 2025, I went to the ER because my CO₂ levels were dangerously high. Within hours, my life changed completely. I was given a medication that caused respiratory failure. I stopped breathing. Twice.”
</div>
<div>That is part of an epilogue I recently wrote describing my 44-day hospital stay. I go on to say that “one of the darkest, most difficult times in my life has become one of the greatest blessings in my life.”
</div>
<div>Hello, my name is Tim, and I was diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) when I was 12. For the past ten-plus years I have lived life wheelchair-bound, but I want to declare — through tears — to you today that God is good. There are rare instances in life when you can see God bring things full circle. This is one of those times.

<div>When I wrote that some of the darkest days had become one of the greatest blessings in my life, I didn’t realize the true depth of that statement until today.
</div>
<div>The reason I went into respiratory failure in the first place was my unsafe, run-down van.
</div>
<div>My wheelchair has no way to lock down securely, and the week prior, my wife had to brake suddenly during a trip to Houston. My chair — with me in it — were thrown into the back of the front seat. I didn’t know it at the time, but that impact caused my CO₂ levels to start rising, which sent me to the hospital and changed the course of my life.
</div>
<div>And it was that hospital stay where God met me.
</div>
<div>Where He ignited my passion for writing.
</div>
<div>Where my debut novel Fields of Faith was born.
</div>
<div>Later, He inspired me to write a poem about a little country church in the hills of Tennessee. I sent it to a great man of faith, Pastor Burt Wallace — the very man whose video inspired the poem. That’s when God began opening doors I never saw coming. He put some incredible men of faith into my life.
</div>
<div>And now, unbelievably, those very men are helping me raise funds for something I have prayed for for years — a safe, reliable wheelchair-accessible van.
</div>
<div>A van that won’t put my life at risk.
</div>
<div>A van that will let me keep going to church, where I’ve taught Sunday School for 23 years.
</div>
<div>A van that will let me keep showing up to the ministry God entrusted to me.
</div>
<div>A van that will allow me to breathe easier, travel safely, and continue living out the calling He placed on my life.
</div>
<div>God took the thing that broke me…and used it to build something I never could have imagined.
</div>
<div>He took the danger… and brought purpose.
</div>
<div>He took the fear… and brought fellowship.
</div>
<div>He took the suffering… and brought a story that’s still unfolding.
</div>
<div>If you feel led to give, pray, or share, please know this:

<div>You are becoming part of the story God is writing.
</div>
<div>A story of grace in weakness.
</div>
<div>A story of provision in the impossible.
</div>
<div>A story where even the darkest days become the soil for new blessings.
</div>
<div>And if you’re walking through your own valley right now, I want you to know:

<div>God still listens.
</div>
<div>He has not forgotten you.
</div>
<div>He has not abandoned you.
</div>
<div>Your prayers are not lost — they are held by the same God who carried me through my hardest season.
</div>
<div>“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:17-18
</div>
<div>I am living proof that God still moves, still answers, and still shows up right on time. My suffering isn't the end of the story — it was the beginning of God doing something far greater than I could see.
</div>
