A Stone for Maggie

Excerpt from: Princess Maggie - Unravelling the Mysteries of a Legend

[Deep in the North, in a sleepy little mining community the wind howls as Mother Nature wreaks havoc on the land, covering her in a clean white blanket of snow. Winter has come and with it, the cold biting northern wind.

Down a winding road, past lines and lines of tombstones is a place where the snow remains undisturbed; a perfect coat of white covering the frozen dirt below. It has been a long time since one has come to pay their respect at this unmarked grave.

Within the ground lay the bones of a legend, or so they say. Her name is not written, nor does a stone mark her passing. She was called by many names and has been referred to as the Mother of Kamiscotia. To the people who settled in this cold wasteland of wind and ice, they called her Princess of the North, the last full blooded Indian and the greatest huntress the North has known. Those that knew her well however, they just called her Maggie.]

Maggie is a northern icon and a beloved historical figure of our northern home. It is time that a proper stone be erected to mark her final resting place beside her husband Bill Leclair.

With the money raised, we will get a stone made. If there is enough support, perhaps even a statue could be made.

Any additional dollars raised, over the cost of the stone will be donated to a charity (charity to be determined at a later date).

Please leave a comment with any story you would like to share of Maggie (even if you don't donate).

Thank you!
