A small water tank to keep OakHill Flora Farm
Donation protected
Currently gripped by drought, Oak Hill Flora Farm is facing the possibility of having to stop producing organically raised cut flowers. Living in small rural towns means that part time jobs are hard to come by, so this on farm income is tremendously important to my family.
We are in desperate need of a tank (5000L). While we would love a huge 20 K plus tank, I am very conscious that a lot of people are doing it tough and I feel terrible asking for help.
I put ever effort into making sure the crops we grow are drought hardy and use many methods to ensure the water is used as efficiently as possible. But without water nothing will grow.
While the thought of growing flowers may seem trivial to some, the response at markets has been incredible! And I feel that our very low carbon footprint farm, organic practices and increased biodiversity is a real asset to our community & will hopefully one day lead to florist choosing our flowers over those that have been mass produced.
