A Service Dog for the Cannada Kids

Nearly 4 years ago, the Cannadas embarked on the amazing journey of growing their family of 5 through foster care and adoption!  SIX sweet children later, they are a big, loud, fun, loving, joyful family of ELEVEN!
         Children who come to a family through foster care and adoption come with a history.  There are often traumas, emotional scars, and disabilities that can last a lifetime.  Our precious Cannada kids are no exception.  There are daily struggles to help them EACH become all that they can be.  The family continues to use any tools at their disposal to meet the needs of these beautiful and special children.
        One such tool is a THERAPUTIC SUPPORT DOG.  A dog trained to respond to trauma-related emotional issues, and to support the specific special needs of the children will be like having a full-time therapist living in the house, ready to comfort, intervene, and offer support and wet kisses!  
        Needless to say, these dogs are not cheap!  A remarkable agency in Concordia, Kansas will breed, raise, and train the dog for the specific needs of the Cannada Kids!  (Check them out here!)  This fall, the dog will come home to work and live and love with nine little people who will benefit in ways we may never know!
         The money raised will pay the fees for the dog itself, plus airfare, lodging, and travel expenses to send some members of the family to Kansas for a week of training with their new therapist.
         The Cannadas have been so blessed with overwhelming love and support these past three years, and our gratitude knows no limits!  We are all frequently asked, "What can I do to help this amazing family?"  Soooo, here's a way to help!
