A service dog for Ezra

On July 2, 2013, Jonathan and Ezra Hatch came into this world side by side. They were born two months premature at three pounds each, which meant they were in for the fight for their life...and life had only begun. Before the age of one, they had both been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy . With this diagnosis came a life of uncomfortable medical procedures, cold doctors' offices, and unfamiliar environments. But despite all of that, these two boys are the happiest children I have ever met. They are so lucky to have such an amazing family who always remains positive.
Three days before Christmas 2017, four-year-old Ezra was on his way to the ER. He had a seizure so severe that it caused vomiting and rendered him unresponsive. After many procedures, tests, and scans he was diagnosed with Epilepsy , another life-long fight.
Being a parent is hard. The sleep depravation experienced with a physically healthy child is enough to drive most parents crazy (we have all been there). But adding on the worry and stress that your child might be suffering from aspiration caused by seizure creates an entirely different level of fear.
That's where a seizure assistance dog comes in. These dogs are amazing!! They make uncomfotable doctor's appointments comfortable; they can help motivate an unmotivated child to participate in therapy sessions; and above all they can alert and comfort a child during a seizure.
Seizure Assistance Dogs can be life-changing, but they are very expensive. Without your contribution, a service dog is out of reach for Ezra and his family.
