Help Chris and his young family find a secure home

Donation protected
This is my son Chris, with his wife Tracey and their three amazing children Isaac aged 9, Noah 6 and Imogen 4.

Chris is 42 years old and until the beginning of November he had no idea he was ill. He went to hospital after developing a loss of sensation to his left hand and face and after a week of tests and investigations, we were devastated to learn that Chris had bowel cancer which has spread to his brain. He was told it was inoperable. This has all happened so incredibly quickly and we are still  trying to process what this means for the family.

As well as being a devoted family man Chris is a creative and inspirational teacher who is well loved by his pupils and respected by his peers. They have an amazingly supportive and caring network of friends, family, pupil parents and colleagues who are providing food, childcare and moral support, ensuring their short-term needs are taken care of.

My worry and theirs, is for their long term future. Despite all their hard work, the demands of a growing family and other issues beyond their control, mean they still live in accommodation “on site” at the school in Northamptonshire, where Chris has taught for the past 11 years. Their dream has always been to have a home of their own where they could bring up their family, a home where they could grow, be happy and create memories.

Chris has just completed a course of whole head radiotherapy. He will be starting chemotherapy in January, to try and slow down the progress of the disease, and give the family as much time as possible to build those all important memories together. Whatever the future holds they deserve the chance of a home away from the constant stress and worry of living in accommodation that is dependent on Chris’ job. A place where the family can feel secure without the fear that they could become homeless in the event of him becoming too ill to work.

This is obviously a major worry for them at a time when they need all their strength to focus on the fight ahead.

Chris is being incredibly strong and positive through all this but he needs to know his precious family has a secure future.

My aim for this appeal is to help my son and his family by raising some money towards a deposit and possibly a few months rent or mortgage payments on a suitable house that could become the family home they so desperately need.
If you could offer any donation at all it would be much appreciated and put to very good use.
