A Seat At The Table Philanthropic Fund

At Super Bowl LIV in Miami, Florida, MJ Acosta and I hosted A Seat At The Table dinner for women in sports + entertainment. With both of us having hearts to give back, we not only wanted to bring together the community of women in the industry, but also partner with local universities to bring women who are inspiring to get in the industry a true opportunity to build relationships with those already in it.

When quarantine hit, A Seat At The Table expanded virtually and has been growing rapidly (1,500 members on LinkedIn and 5,000+ on Instagram), in the last six months. 

About A Seat At The Table
A Seat At The Table is a sisterhood created by women in the sports & entertainment industry for current and future women in the industry. We are a community of women who use our platforms to give back to our communities and to mentor & equip the next generation of female gamechangers.

We built the table we’ve wanted to see: A culture of real talk, genuine relationships and less sole-focus corporate-ladder-climbing and more encouragement building & accountability. Whether you’ve been in the industry for decades or you’re exploring breaking into it, we have room at the table. 

The needs we are meeting and the needs we have
With our rapid expansion, the desire to establish a philanthropic fund to be able to truly equip the next generation of gamechangers through mentorship has increased immensely. While all of us are committing our time to raising up the next generation and contributing financially out of our own pockets to fund this, we figured now is a good time to start a philanthropic fund that can truly help provide resources to these efforts. 

With your donation, we will be able to set up a philanthropic fund that can reach even more women in sports + entertainment around the country to not only have community, but to be equipped and empowered to enter a male-dominated industry with confidence, skills and abilities needed. With every woman that we mentor, we equip to also use her platform to give back to needs in her community. 

Will you help us establish our initial fund? Every $1 counts. Right now our goal is to raise $1500 in order to establish our fund under a fiscal sponsor and to begin bringing in grants and funding for our programming.
