A Safety Net For John

After 38 years of walking on a knee and hip that were damaged from being hit by a car, John Alvarez's joints have reached their limit.  He needs replacement parts, but in the meantime he's lost work, lost income, and the bills are piling up.  Our fundraiser goal is to stabilize John financially until his Disability Insurance is approved, or he can get his knee and hip replaced and return to work.

Amazingly, John is still working, but because he can't stand for more than 15 minutes at a time, his job options are limited.  He's had to sacrifice his theater work and his job at the Cape May Zoo, relying solely on his writing and photography job to fill the income gap, which is growing wider every day.


It was never John's plan to need help, but he does - and with a tiny bit of help from all of us, he'll be saved from the downward spiral of disability.  If each of our Facebook friends donated just a single dollar, John's burden would be lifted.

Those donations will go to his outstanding medical and utility bills, and basic living expenses.  Once his funding goal is reached, additional donations will be used to pay for his hip and knee replacement and other medical costs.

I've known John for 32 years.  Not once in all that time has he ever asked for any kind of help in any area of his life, but he needs it now.  Anything you can contribute will make a difference for him.  Please give what you can.
