 I'm Nicole (or Nica, if you know me from the internet). My fiance Gabriel and I live with my father. While we are privileged enough to have that circumstance, living here is... well, honestly, unhealthy., and we are trying to get a place of our own.

 To fully understand all of the family lore that brought us to this GoFundMe, I'd have to start from many years before I was born, and continue to the present moment. I'm not going to do that to ya'll.

 We have been trying earnestly for years now to set aside money each month to find a place of our own to call home as a couple. Unfortunately, during those years, my health has continued to throw us costly curveballs that have decimated our savings.
</div>

 I suffer from chronic illness that really reared it's head in 2019, just as the pandemic started. Since then, I've been in the ER several times, and put on a daily regimine of several medications. These medications, along with my medical conditions, make it difficult for me to hold down a standard job. Gabriel is currently the main provider, with me doing commissions and streaming to try and bring in some additional income. It's not enough to replentish the loss of our savings.

 I want to preface that I do genuinely love my dad. I want that to be very clear. However, as much as I love him, living with him is not healthy physically, mentally, or emotionally, especially as I am 31 and he still view and treats me like I am 15.

 There is a fundemental resistance to treating me or my fiance like adults or, sometimes, as a people worthy of basic consideration. From enforcing a curfew of no hanging out after 10pm

 'k, disallowing my fiance and I to share a blanket or be in a room with a shut door, intentionally being unreasonably noisy at unreasonable hours, expressing embarrassment and disappointment in my sexuality, not taking our medical or mental health issues seriously, mocking/chastizing me for my period, damaging or breaking our property and not replacing or reimbursing us, racially insensitive comments (while not meant maliciously, it doesn't change what they are), and more.

 I've been in therapy for several years now to work on my perserverance, but it has reached the point where there's no more that I can do on my end. He refuses to change, and I cannot force him. My therapist is in agreement that finding a place for me and my fiance to live on our own would be beneficial to my overall health, not just mentally.

 We don't want a massive or fancy home, just one with a yard for our dog and two bathrooms. One where we can live as our own little family and have some peace. That is the reason for this GoFundMe. If you have any money you can part with, or even just social media that you can share our link to, any sort of help would be so incredibly amazing and we would be grateful for it.
