Build Busland: Summer Festival 2025

This summer, we’re creating something joyful out of struggle.

After a year of survival, rebuilding, and rediscovery, Grace and I are organizing a 2-day Summer Festival on the plot we currently call home. This festival is more than just an event — it’s a launchpad for Busland, a grassroots cultural space in the making.

We’re raising €1500 specifically to pay performers, staff, and basic infrastructure for this event. Every euro goes directly into creating a space where community, music, storytelling, and mutual support can thrive — even if just for 48 hours.

Why the funding goal on GoFundMe is still €12,500:

While our immediate priority is this festival, the original campaign goal reflects the broader journey we’re on — a journey to rebuild our lives, secure stable housing, and keep Busland alive in the long term.

We have already raised over €7,500 through various sources including this one, which has been a lifeline. Keeping the overall goal visible shows how much further we need to go, but today we’re asking for your support to reach the next crucial milestone — this summer festival.

✨ Why this matters now:

On August 15th, we must vacate the land we were generously allowed to use temporarily. Rents remain unaffordable, and despite working online and performing, my income still isn’t enough to secure housing. It is a slow march and I need to be patient.

But what I CAN do is build a bridge to a better life — one song, one show, one act of community at a time. This festival is our first public step toward turning Busland into a permanent, legally recognized, mobile venue for the arts.
