A New US Constitution

Our political system is out of control and no longer reflects the concerns and values of our nation. It has been corrupted by vast sums of money and corporate influence, and needs to be reconstituted. Contributions will be used to develop a website capable of processing crowdsourced content for a new constitution, which will be organized by editors like you.

Our constitution is the operating system for our nation. It is 230 years old. Our current, and second constitution, is designed to solve problems which threatened the Confederation of States in  1787. Our current problems require a much different design, one which is much more democratic. 

Washington stated very clearly in his Farewell Address, " The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government".  Organizing Americans to draft and then ratify a new constitution has been almost impossible until the recent communications revolution brought us the Internet. Now we have literally no excuse for maintaining our political system directly as one people.

My goal is to organize a group of editors who can develop a new outline for our government. That outline will be detailed and cover all the most popular ideas currently held by a majority of Americans. A new gun provision, a climate change provision, a healthcare provision and more.

Once the draft outline is completed, the committee of editors will present it to top legal authorities in the United States for their consideration and endorsement. Revisions will be made if necessary, and a final draft will be presented to the American people for a direct national vote.
