A new outdoor wheelchair

Donation protected

I went to a doctor’s appointment on September 20, 2019. That was the last time I was able to leave the house.

Ataxia is a progressively debilitating disease. If you have not heard of Ataxia, think Parkinson’s meets Multiple Sclerosis. I’ve got this disease, and I am rapidly losing use of my limbs. Balance and strength are never going to be at a baseline that’s safe for me. In fact, I spent the summer in a cast because I broke my leg in the spring—I was just trying to use my walker to get myself to the bathroom when I fell. It’s just too dangerous to move around on my own now.

I am only 30  years old and am already facing dire circumstances. My daughter is 6 years old and she is going to miss out on enough when the time comes. Unfortunately, while I am still here, I am unable to go to the park with my daughter, go to her school events, or meet her at the bus. But I think my quality of life, and that of my daughter, can change with your help.

I am looking for help to purchase an outdoor wheelchair so that my family and I can spend as much quality time as possible. I daydream about being able to see my daughter’s holiday pageant. To go with my family to the fruit farm. To watch her sit on Santa’s lap. Any little bit can help me and my family spend as much quality time as we can.
