A New Kidney for Lorella

As many of you know my sister, Lorella Treadway, needs a new kidney. She has struggled for many years with her health due to a medical ‘mishap’ back in 1977. Here is her story:
In 1977 she underwent surgery for cancer of the uterus. The doctor that sewed her up took the stitches too deep and stitched around each of her ureter tubes. She had many years of illness and the doctors did not find the problem until 1995. By that time her right kidney was dead and the left was only functioning at 20%. Now after many years of trying to maintain the health of her remaining kidney, the time for dialysis and transplant has come. She recently had surgery to insert a catheter for dialysis and the search for a transplant donor is beginning. This will mean many trips to doctors, hospitals and dialysis center. Both she and her husband are on Social Security and Medicare. Having Medicare will help, but there will be a lot that’s not covered. I’m asking for your help! Every dollar raised will go directly to Lorella’s care. In addition we need your prayers. Pray that we find a donor, pray for successful surgeries for Lorella and the donor. In addition, everyone out there who is willing to be a donor, not only for my sister but for anyone in need, know that you are special people. Giving the gift of life.
