The Lone Fisherman has been in Tooting market for over 9 years becoming part of the community, after an unjust and prejudicially motivated police raid (which found nothing - because there was nothing to find), the Landlord gave the small Caribbean eatery 3 days to vacate the premises. Penalising the innocent business again for no other reason than being unfairly profiled and targeted by police action.
The Lone Fisherman has endured the lock down during Covid-19 and was getting back on its feet with a new look and new menu, but these events have taken everything away. We hope to dust ourselves off and start afresh someplace new, but we need your support to do so.
Any funds raised will be used to deal with the immediate consequences of the eviction notice (including legal representation, loss of trade as well as short term storage for our equipment & transport) but also to establish a new home for The Lone Fisherman.
Needless to say, we are extremely grateful for the support shown so far in the petition, on Instagram and in person. We need to ask for your support once again to fight this injustice and continue doing what we love.....making great Caribbean food.
