A New Fur Baby for Kori and Miles Gettel

Donation protected
Hello friends,

Some of you may already know this from being friends with my sister, but she and my nephew have  experienced two tragic losses in a period of less than two weeks.
The first was expected: their 15-year-old dog had to be put down last week. The second was a complete shock: Miles’  One-year-old puppy chased a rabbit into the street last night, and was struck by an SUV who did not stop. The poor dog died on the way to the animal hospital.
While my sister has been devastated by these two losses, the most difficult part for her has been explaining the death of a beloved pet to her seven-year-old son. Although they need some time to heal, I know Miles  would be ecstatic to get a new puppy to love on in the coming months.

I don’t know how my sister is going to provide that for him. It took her a long time to save enough money to get Lucy.  I would buy her a new dog in a heartbeat if I could, but I don’t have the money. Kori  is the nicest person I know, and she is loved by many, so I am reaching out to our  friends  and family to help raise enough money to get them a new puppy and cover the medical costs for the care of her two deceased dogs.
If we can get about 50 people to donate $20 to this cause, she will have enough to purchase just about any kind of puppy she wants for Miles. If we happen to raise more than that, she can put it towards vet bills, puppy training,  doggy daycare, etc.
$20  is definitely not a minimum deposit, though. Absolutely anything you can contribute towards this would be appreciated. If possible, I would like to keep it a secret for now so that we can surprise her with it in a couple of days when she is feeling better.

One last sidenote: I know raising money for a puppy might seem like a silly cause. Please know that I would not be reaching out to you if this were not so important to my sister. Her older dog was her first baby for a long time, and she and Miles were so very attached to poor Lucy.   Like I said, my sister is a wonderful person. I have very rarely seen her cry, as she is usually the person who provides the shoulder to cry on for everyone else,  but I have watched her grieve twice now in the last couple of weeks.  While nothing can replace Daisy and Lucy, I would love to give her something positive to look forward to.

Thank you so much for your consideration and support.
