Louth Hockey Club is raising money to save the club from losing its home. The artificial pitch where the club is based is 21 years old and in desperate need of replacement. If the pitch isn't replaced it is likely the club will cease to exist. The club has over 150 members, male and female, aged from six to 70 years. It has four senior teams and two junior teams. It plays competitive hockey on the pitch every week during the season and trains twice a week. The pitch is used seven days a week by hockey and football players, and is the only artificial turf pitch in Louth. A new pitch will cost up to £200,000. The club is raising money towards this total. It is hoping major sponsors, local councils, national sports bodies and the operator of the pitch will fund most of the cost - but the club is determined to play its part. We have already held fundraising events and plan more in the future. If you can help us in any way, we would be very grateful. Any donations would be ring-fenced for the pitch replacement project.
