A Native Warrior's battle with ovarian cancer

Hi, my name is Valdeena, sister of Blair Leonard. To us, Blair is a lovable caring sister, daughter, cousin, niece and the most bestest Aunt ever. She is also a very reliable hard worker for AMR, she considers a lot of her coworkers family and friends. She is loved more than she knows.

Months ago, she found out she had a mass/cyst the size of a large grapefruit on her ovaries. We thought she was just having a cyst removed but it turned out to be more than that. She took time off work to have the cyst removed. But as she was recovering from surgery, she got a call from the doctor telling her they found a clear cell carcinoma. She was then referred to an Oncologist. The doctor wasted no time, and a second surgery was scheduled within weeks for biopsies and 1 out of the 8 came back positive. Unfortunately, they told her it was stage 3 ovarian cancer, and it was starting to spread. Within a week she had to have a port put in and within a few days of that before she could recover from the port, she had her first chemotherapy treatment. In a few days she will be going in for her 2nd chemotherapy treatment.

My sister has been the bravest I've ever seen her. She's a true Warrior. We have always called her Blair "Bear", a Bear represents Strength, Bravery and Courage which she is now truly owning up to.

So, we are asking for help for her. Since all this started, she has only worked maybe 7 days out of the last 2 to 3 months. Her insurance pays for about 75 to 80 percent of the medical bills and she's had to pay a down payment for each procedure. The bills are starting to come in and there will be more to come as the Drs have told her she will need 6 treatments total, plus all the other Dr visits, procedures, hospital stays and medications.

All donations will go towards her medical bills, treatments, medications and just to help her get through day to day without her having to stress about tomorrow.
