A Mother’s Final Kiss Goodbye

With a heavy heart we are saddened to announce the loss of our sister Courtney Brady, who passed away this evening just weeks after giving birth to her son, Chase.
Courtney was a loving person with an infectious smile, the biggest heart, & a laugh that you could recognize anywhere. She had a determination & drive that not even Cerebral Palsy could stop or slow down.
On November 14th, Courtney was taken to the hospital with complaints of shortness of breath & body aches, which doctors suspected was due to Lupus. A kidney biopsy was scheduled however preparations for this procedure led to blood clots, which traveled to her brain, causing severe swelling, & inevitably lead to a brain stem stroke. Courtney took a nap after complaining of a headache & she never woke back up.
Although Baby Chase was born 3 months early on 11/9/2017, he is doing well. He was able to have his first Thanksgiving with mom, & with the help of hospital staff, shared a few special moments doing "skin to skin" contact with her this week. He will remain at the hospital until he is healthy enough to come home. He is truly a miracle & although they only had a short time together, Courtney was already a selfless dedicated mom who was very much looking forward to the journey of new motherhood.
Our family is now left with an empty hole in our hearts, that can never be filled, & a newborn baby who will never know his mother as we all did. I am in awe at the strength of my mother Stephanie & Chase's dad Dion; Despite such unthinkable circumstances, their faith is so unwavering.
My goal is to raise enough funds to help cover funeral costs and to give our mom Stephanie a buffer over the next few months while she is figuring out how to navigate this new life after losing her child while gaining a new infant grandchild, with medical expenses. Please join us and help. No amount is too little... even if it's $5 or $10, that would help once we pull it all together. Any support would help in this unthinkable time of loss and heartache.
All funds raised will be presented to Courtney's mom, Stephanie, and her baby Chase, as soon as we are able to withdraw.
