A Mom With Two Boys Both Killed in Home Explosion

Donation protected
On Friday, June 17, 2022 my sister received a loud banging on the front door at around 4 am with the worst news of her life. A guy that was at the scene of the incident informed her that her son was involved in a house fire and was transported from Christian Hospital to Mercy Hospital. His condition at that time was unknown. In disbelief, she called out for her sons and no response. She went to look for them throughout the house and could not locate either of her sons. She notified me and we immediately went straight to Mercy Hospital calling family members along the way.
When we arrived at the hospital, we were told to stand by and wait for the doctor to come out and talk to us. It felt like we were waiting forever because we wanted to know the condition of her son. After about 10 minutes, the doctor allowed us to come to a holding area. This was when the doctor informed us that his heart stopped but they could not revive him and he was gone. The news hit her hard and she was devastated and in disbelief; we both were. Now with the news of her youngest son gone, she needed to know the whereabouts and condition of her oldest son. While we were all gathering at the hospital after learning of the news that Chris had passed away, we also learned that it wasn't just a house fire, but an explosion.
It took almost the entire day to find her oldest son. We were back and forth between Mercy and the scene of the incident trying to get some answers from officials about the location of William. By the end of the day, the detective informed us that William was possibly the first person to be pulled from the wreckage and that he needed to be identified by his dental records. We were holding out on hope that he was still alive but after getting that news, we all felt the same pain that we felt when we learned of Chris, but twice.
We are starting this fundraiser to help my sister with funeral costs and other costs associated with dealing with this tragedy. We appreciate all the love and support that we have received and it has allowed her to start healing. We are in the process of doing a vigil on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the scene of the incident at Parker and North Ranch, and proceed with their funeral by next
week.
