Jim’s Battle-
In July of 2015 at the age of 52 Jim rolled his lawn mower on a hill.  He had an  abrasion that developed into an open wound that would not heal . He was sent to a vascular surgeon for tests to find out why. In the next year Jim had 6 surgeries on his right leg. Every incision became infected and would not heal.In Oct. of 2016 Jim was in the hospital for a severe staff infection  .The day after his release he had a heart attack and was rushed to Bangor where he underwent a triple bypass. In June of 2017 we discovered that the vein graft in his right leg was once again narrowed allowing very minimal blood flow to his right foot. At that stage the Once that no longer works they will have to amputate and they will not be able to save the knee. With this in mind they began work on his left leg hoping to fix it so he will have one good leg.when they remove his right. He underwent a six and half hour surgery where they worked on both legs. A week after the surgery Jim developed a life threatening staff infection in the next week he underwent five more surgeries. Not only has he had multiple infections but he bleeds more than the average person and has bled out three times. Jim is facing several more surgeries to his left leg to try and fix it and the removal of his right. Jim is a cook and has managed a restaurant in his home town of Skowhegan Maine for 30 years. He is a loving husband father and grandfather. He loves the outdoors and can usually be found at camp in the summertime fishing kayaking and feeding anyone that arrives.
