A miracle for Isla Hope
We are adopting this baby. Long story short, a friend of the family tried to abort her baby earlier this year. She was in the room and before procedure they required her to hear heartbeat and see baby. When they did, the father said they'll give the baby away but he couldn't let it be killed.❤ Fast forward to now. Baby Isla Hope will be ours at birth in December. Due Christmas. Talk about all kinds of signs of miracles!! We're not rich in money but rich in faith. My issue is this. This has been EXPENSIVE...and we're nowhere near done in legal expenses. We've invested thousands already and have a few more to go. I've been at my job less than a year. So I qualify for no kind of leave... not even FMLA. Ive been told I'll be let go if I take any time off for baby before I'm eligible to in March. I have no vacation time to use because we have a special needs child that I've already used my vacation days for. I'm not worried too terribly about leaving my job because I've been in EMS 15 years and I can find another. My issue is I need to take some time off at her birth (she's likely going to be born with withdrawals) and we can't afford to be without that income now with all these expenses. Someone suggested I do this and we thought it may be worth a try. Any help is appreciated. Please feel free to share.
