I moved to the Steinbach Building earlier this summer. Upon move in, I met some of the most incredible people, and for the first time while renting, I feel as if I have a family here. Which leads me to my request.

One member of our Steinbach community, Ally, who many of you affectionately refer to as “Steinbachs dog whisperer”, needs our help. Her beloved dog of seven years, Finn, was admitted to the emergency department of Red Bank Veterinary Hospital on Friday, 16Sep2022 with 3 herniated discs. Not only has Finn lost the ability to use his hind legs and walk, he has suffered neurological damage, and has lost the ability to control his bladder and bowel movements.

The good news is that the spinal damage can be reversed through surgery. The bad news is that the surgery cost $12,732.69, which does not include the vet hospital stay and care. Ally is working two jobs, and is doing all she can to meet the costs of Finn’s medical bills, but she is sinking under the weight of it all.

Ally and Finn are inseparable companions, and we can all agree that our pets are our family. Not only do they provide emotional stability for us, but they make visiting the beach or going on long excursions that much better.

If you know Ally, you know she has a heart of gold and doesn’t think twice about helping someone in need. In a world full of chaos and violence, wouldn’t it be nice to know that you have given back to someone in need?
