I'm Rick Marvell, and I'm creating this campaign because my younger brother Mark Marvell needs your help!
On Friday night, September 8th, his husband Michael Sebastian took him to the ER knowing there was something seriously wrong. He was in cardiac failure and according to the cardiologist had been for about 3 weeks. He was also in A-Fib, possibly for over a year. The prognosis is good. Although the cardios showed no blockages or defects, other tests showed that the heart was pumping at less that 35% of it's capacity. He is very weak and has a long, tough road ahead.
Mark's life has been committed to helping others. He has promoted filmmakers, artist, actors, musicians and performers through film festivals, benefits, and projects like The Backlot & East Village Cabaret. He has raised millions of dollars for these artists and causes. He was even selling raffle tickets to raise money for the student scholarship fund at Brevard Music Center while already in heart failure. Then went to work for an 8-hour shift well into the night.
Mark has always done anything he can for others and is is very difficult for him and Michael to ask others for help when needed. The next few months are going to be particularly difficult forthem with deductibles, co-pays and loss of wages. Mark may not be back to work for months and Michael had to step away from more than 2 months of work in Sarasota to lovingly and selflessly take care of Mark. I am asking you to please help my brother by your gifts and words of support, no matter how small or large. And if you're not able to give (everyone has big needs these days) please forward this on to those you know who can help and whose lives have been touched by this wonderful couple through the years.
