A Lupus Battle

It's been a long 17-year battle with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that attacks major organs in the body. I currently have End Stage Renal Failure and I am on dialysis 3 times per week. Being on dialysis and having lupus has been a struggle with many complications and surgeries. My immune system is extremely weak and it's difficult to fight this disease. Since beginning on dialysis, I have lost approximately 40 pounds and my strength has weakened. Throughout this battle medical expenses, medications, surgeries, co-pays, etc. have became extremely overwhelming. Many of my complications have led me to being unemployed. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm no stranger to hard work, but unfortunately my lupus has limited my daily activites.
