Dale Mcbride has a long road back to being healthy

Dale McBride is my brother in law, from an early age we are taught when you get pushed down to always get back up again. But no one ever talks about what happens when you cannot get back up again on your own. What happens when you think things are finally going to turn for the better, but they do the opposite, things get worse.
In June of 2019 Dale McBride was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. During his biopsy he had contracted a staff infection and became extremely sick causing him not to be able to work. He took a step back from oilfield life to get treatment and focus on trying to heal. Taking this break helped Dale get back to place where he could go back to work. Right as he was able to work again and return to providing for his family COVID-19 struck.
As soon as work began to open back up following the COVID-19 lockdown Dale was right there. Eager and ready to get back to the daily grind. However, after a couple weeks back at work Dale began feeling uncomfortable and continued to feel worse as the days went on. He went in for testing and was diagnosed with acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia.
Dale was admitted to the Tom Baker Cancer Center in Calgary with a severely enlarged spleen, impaired kidney function and difficulty breathing. Even though he is not a candidate for a bone marrow or stem cell transplant due to his existing lung cancer, the oncologists decided he had a chance with the Dana Farber treatment protocol for the leukemia. 
Dale has begun his treatment plan at the Tom Baker Center. He has gotten through his first 10 days of chemo and although it is tough, he is in good spirits. The treatment is very harsh, and the doctors have informed us Dale will probably end up in the ICU from the chemotherapy. If the initial month of extremely aggressive Chemotherapy goes well, he should be able to continue treatment as an out-patient, and the norm for this type of cancer is aggressive chemotherapy for 2 years or more. Once Dale starts on an out-patient program he will need to travel 200km per round trip.
It appears every time Dale tries to get back up and continue his fight he gets pushed back down. Dale can no longer get back up on his own and take the entire battle on himself. But his fight is not over. We are asking for support to cover the travel costs and cost of living while Dale continues to fight. We want to help take some of the stress off him and his family while they go through this battle. We thank everyone for their contributions every bit helps with the long journey ahead.
