A Living Classroom at Waldorf School of Pittsburgh

a classroom that grows student minds, hearts, and experiences, serves as a model for other schools in the region, and builds stronger community connections with our surrounding neighborhoods.

Imagine a path to normalize deliberate choices that contribute
to the natural world in a positive, sustainable way.

The 8th Grade Classroom aspires to meet Core Green Building Certification , a framework outlining ten achievements a building must obtain to be considered green and sustainable. This will be the first classroom of its kind for a school in the country and is a true reflection of our values as a Waldorf school.

Imagine a classroom that provides a living laboratory for hands-on learning opportunities in the upper grades science curriculum.
Imagine a beautiful building  that embraces all of our school’s values for health, wellness, and development of the whole child. A place that fosters our educational philosophy of head, heart, and hands.

Imagine a space that bridges the connections between the school and surrounding community, and provides space for community building, family and adult education, and networking.

Help us build this vision of reverence and respect for our community and the natural world.

Gifts of all sizes are needed and welcome.

Our deepest gratitude to all of our donors (listed alphabetically by last name) who have supported this effort:
