A Liver for Sarah Ann Snead Rose

Donation protected
My name is Carol Snead Stutes and I have been caring for my younger sister Sarah, who has recently found out that she needs a liver transplant. On Mother's day 2020, she and our older sister came to my house so we could celebrate with our mom. Sarah seemed perfectly healthy, but by September 2nd she was in end stage liver failure. A liver transplant is her best option to survive. The doctors don't know why she got so sick. Apparantly, this can "just happen". My sister has been the primary and frequently the only bread winner in her family. She is 56 years old,  has two daughters in college and her husband has early onset dementia. Her oldest daughter is studying to be a Nurse Practioner and her youngest wants to work with animals. Sarah has always been a very private person and has always tried to handle life's bumps on her own. Now, she must leave her home in Pinehurst, NC  and move into an apartment near Winston Salem to be closer to family and her doctors. Sarah is an audiologist, but is unable to work due to her liver disease. She has spent 15 days in the hospital since her initial diagnosis on September2nd. I had to convince her to go to the hospital initially because she was so worried about the cost. She has sacrificed so much for her family for so many years. I wanted to try and get her story out there.
