A Little Room for Art

A Little Room for Art is an artists’ co-operative gallery in St. Pete Beach, Florida.   We have been in business for 18 years and have been successful using a plan where the artists take turns maintaining and staffing the shop. Recently,  A myriad of situations have compromised tourism and made sales scarce. Until now we have not needed assistance to stay afloat.

First, there was nearly 2 years of road construction, then construction next door to us of a large restaurant/vacation rental/rooftop bar that is dwarfing our little store; the sidewalk is closed, so people often can’t see us from the other side of the street.  (We do not know when that will be finished).  And now the red tide has hit big time, which is also keeping tourists away. 

We rely on sales which have been sparse. So we can’t pay the rent.  The artists have chipped in (over and above what they normally pay)  but they won’t be able to much longer.  We just need $2,200 for the next two months until the season starts and business picks up again.
