A Little Help For Wes & Deb

Over the last handful of months I've received queries as to how our buddy Wes has weathered the cancer storm. I put this question to Wes a few days ago, and his response follows:
Year 4 Update (July 19, 2020)
To All Of My Generous Donors:
A while back, I decided to stop talking about “my cancer.” Instead, I decided to call it “Elvis, because the one thing everyone can agree on is that no one knows for sure whether or not Elvis ever left the building. So it is with Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This particular type of cancer is pesky, a scamp. You never know when it might reappear.
Sort of like Elvis.
However, I’m glad to report that, at least for now, Elvis has chosen not to take the stage. Instead, he’s probably hanging out in the Green Room, no doubt munching on a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich, which is one of his favorite snacks. Although my recent PET scan revealed two small areas noted by the radiologist in her report, they are by my oncologist’s estimate, unremarkable. His reaction? “Elated.” Any time you can get an “elated’ out of your oncologist, it’s a good thing.
My energy is back, and so is my hair. Even during COVID-19, my occupation has allowed me to keep working. I am grateful for many reasons, and one of those reasons is you. Your generosity through Go Fund Me not only gave me more time to enjoy this big beautiful blue ball which we all share but has also allowed me to pay it back, at least a little.
I’ve started a Go Fund Me Page for a friend and local musician who desperately needs financial help. It won’t be someone you know and is most likely someone you’ll never meet. But I’ve found that, sometimes, this is where caring and generosity mean the most.
