A little help for my Ernie...

Donation protected
If you know me, then you know that I am very much head over heels in love with my doggy, Ernie. Eric & I rescued Ernie in the fall of 2015, or you could say that Ernie rescued us. He is a very special soul & very much makes the lives of those around him better... sweet, gentle, & always in the mood for a treat & a snuggle. One could definitely say that Ernie is my dog-child. :)

Like many large dog breeds, Ernie has had a couple of lumps pop up on his body over the years. Up until recently, we hadn't been worried & our vet hadn't given us any reason to be alarmed. In the last few months, some of these lumps have grown dramatically in size and poor Ernie has been vomiting and wheezing (behaviors that he's never really exhibited in the past). After bringing him in to the vet earlier this week & having tissue samples drawn from most of the lumps, there are two in particular that are in tough spots that cannot be biopsied without being removed. Scheduling surgery for Ernie is unavoidable. We've gotta do it for at least the 2 'unknown' lumps, and will find out if more need to be removed soon. The surgery, plus an X-ray, plus any meds they will send us home with was estimated to be around $2,000.

Not knowing what to do or how we could possibly afford this surgery, I took to the internet; making a facebook post, asking if any friends would be interested in buying some of my belongings in order to raise funds for Ernie's surgery. (Which is now scheduled for April 12th!) I made the post yesterday morning. After a busy day of traveling and gigging, I checked back a day later to find an overwhelming response from people offering to help fund Ernie's much needed medical procedure. After quite a few tears & feeling my heart grow 3 sizes, I've decided to heed to advice of my amazing community of fb pals, and start this GoFundMe page for my dear Ernie. I've never dabbled in the world of crowd funding (which, if I'm being honest, has always intimidated me).

What I've learned in the past few days is: a) It takes a village. b) People really are good. & c) It's not terrible to ask for help when you need it.

So, here we are! My first-ever crowd funding campaign, on behalf of my dog-child Ernie, inspired by you.

Thank you so much for your loving thoughts and kindness.
