A Library of Black American History

My name is Joshua Wilson, 18 years of age and will be graduating Seminole High school at the end this school year 2023-2024. In the fall I will attend Savannah College of Art and Design.

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Alton William, Chairman of the Evergreen Cemetery in Casselberry, Florida and was impressed with its history. Originally I was to participate in an Eagle Scout service project to raise money for a library to add to the Brawner House Museum presently at the cemetery, but unfortunately I aged out of scouts before the project could get started. However, I still have that interest to be of service and wanted to be a part of preserving history by providing links to the history of the cemetery with historic events that took place in Casselberry. Books will also be placed in the library that were written by and about African American and their contributions to society.

I will be doing this fundraiser project under the leadership and guidance of Mr. Williams, Chairman of the Evergreen Cemetery and I’m asking that you help me be successful by contributing to my effort as a young African American male.
