A JOURNEY THAT GROWS FAITH

I want to start out by thanking God for giving me the privilege to witness both the love story and hardships of Adrian and Holli. Little did I know that when God brought Holli into my life years ago, she would become such a close friend and dear sister. That is why today, against all odds, I stand firm in my faith, trusting God has complete control and will provide for their needs, both spiritually and financially, bringing this family back together.

Because I have witnessed this unfold firsthand, I am stepping out in faith, knowing God will take complete control, providing for this precious family of three, an abundance of love, support and prayer. This fundraiser is meant to encourage and support them, especially right now in their great financial need.

To understand the greatness and importance of God placing this on my heart, you have to know the backstory. While a little longer than usual, reading through the story will help you grasp the uniqueness of this situation.

Why a Journey that grows faith?

Adrian and Holli met in the United States and started a relationship back in 2006. Six years ago, they got married and now have a 5-yr old son named Cruz. What is so unique you might ask?

Out of the 13 years they have been in a relationship, they have only spent five years in the same place physically. Of their six years of marriage, they have only spent 9 months together.

Adrian has been in Mexico for 12+ years, while the family has been stuck in a lengthy process with immigration to try to get him to the United States and be reunited with his family.

Cruz just now turning five, has only been able to see his dad face-to-face two times. I don’t know about you, but I can’t fathom the idea of a little boy being without his dad.

I’ve been able to witness day in and day out how dedicated Adrian has been to Holli and likewise Holli to Adrian. God has grown Adrian and Holli in their faith. Fighting against all odds, they have trusted that this process is the one God wants them to go through. A very lengthy process that will bring Adrian to the United States through the immigration system.

I know it well, that through suffering we learn, hurt, and grow closer to God if we let Him take over our life. That is what Adrian and Holli have done. They have wanted to do the immigration process right and trust that God is in control.

Because of the long drawn out immigration process there has been a lot of debt incurred and still a lot to come. This is my main reason for reaching out.

As many of you know I had posted in the past about praying for an immigration interview that Adrian had, but I never sent out an update.

At first, I was confused, angry, and sad because we expected that within days, they would be able to be reunited, but the interview didn’t go as well as we thought it did. The enemy for sure was in the midst of trying to attack Adrian, yet, he stated that he felt an enormous peace and covering of prayers through the Holy Spirit and God surrounding him completely in this attack. Despite the interview not going according to plan, he did end up getting a waiver, which is another step before his next consulate appointment. We do not know how long the process will take but we pray that it will be quick. Only the Lord knows and in his perfect timing, it will come to fruition.

I admire Holli, she has been a rock in my life, and encouragement through suffering. I have no doubt that God brought us into each other’s lives. It is painful and frustrating to see a family fighting to be together through the right process of immigration, yet, they are struggling to keep their head above water until the next wave comes.

So, as I have seen her suffer day in and day out, emotionally, physically, mentally and especially financially, I finally sat down and asked Holli what she needed. Being that we have to continue this process with immigration to be able to get Adrian to the United States, it will take even more funds to pay the lawyer and additional immigration fees. All this to finally bring her husband home.

Many of you that have had to go through immigration process or had a family member do so; know that there always are unexpected amounts to be paid. Yet, if we can help them with the financial burden right now, then that in itself will bring tremendous peace on their family as they continue following this path God has them on.

So why don’t Holli and Cruz just move to Mexico?

It is not currently a possibility for Holli and Cruz to move to Mexico. If it were, they would be down there already. Adrian and Holli made the decision for her to live in the US with Cruz because things in Mexico are not safe. Extreme violence and kidnappings asking for ransom are just some of the dangers currently happening in Mexico. While it is hard for them to be apart, they also want to protect their family, and this is why they have made this decision.

There is so much more to this story, yet, not enough space to share it.

Holli has said it is ok to ask her any questions regarding the immigration process. To do so, you can comment below or contact me through email and I will make sure she gets it.

Lots of love,
Tami
