Elizabeth Mwesigwa is the Director of the Mwesigwa International School and Home Care (MISHC). This organization was initiated when Elizabeth, who was born with both her legs severely deformed, unable to walk, apart from on her knees, was ignored and isolated by her own community. She had no hope or belief, but then, having been embraced by the Uganda Paralympic Committee and given a chance to participate in the World Para Badminton Championships in 2019, her whole self esteem, determination and need to help other people really became obvious.

She trained as an instructor in Sign Language and embarked on helping the disabled children in her home area of Luuka. They too had been abandoned by their communities, orphaned with ill health, deaf or blind.

Today, she has the opportunity to buy a piece of land with two houses in the village. Such an opportunity will not happen every year, and it'd be a very important improvement for the children's.

We only have a few days to collect 6 000 US$ for Elizabeth and the children's. Please help us reaching that goal.

Elizabeth Mwesigwa est directrice de la Mwesigwa International School and Home Care (MISHC) (MISHC). Cette organisation a été initiée quand Elizabeth, qui est née avec ses deux jambes gravement déformées, incapable de marcher, à part à genoux, elle a été ignorée et isolée par sa propre communauté. Elle avait peu d’espoir, mais après avoir été acceptée par le Comité Paralympique d’Ouganda et avoir eu la chance de participer aux Championnats du Monde de Para Badminton en 2019, sa détermination et son besoin d’aider les autres sont devenus évidents.

Elle a suivi une formation d’instructrice en langue des signes et a commencé à aider les enfants handicapés dans sa région natale de Luuka. Eux aussi avaient été abandonnés par leurs communautés, orphelins de maladie, sourds ou aveugles.

Aujourd’hui, elle a la possibilité d’acheter un terrain avec deux maisons dans le village. Une telle occasion ne se présentera pas chaque année, et ce serait un progrès immense pour les enfants.

Nous n’avons que quelques jours pour collecter 6 000 dollars pour Elizabeth et les enfants. Aidez-nous à atteindre cet objectif.
