A Home for Lizzie and Aliannah

Goal: Single Working Mom Needs Home

Need: $32,000

Quick update: LIZZIE WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE LAND TO BUILD ON!! So we are on the way to a home for Lizzie and her daughter.  She will need approximately $32,000 USD more for labor and materials to build and furnish the house. This is the same campaign for Lizzie under a different organizer--all monies raised previously remain in Lizzie's account. With the help of generous supporters like you, Lizzie and Aliannah will be reunited before Aliannah's next birthday!

Lizzie's Story:
My name is Elizabeth Thompson. I know what it is like to grow up without a mother, and I won't allow my daughter to experience that pain. As a child in Jamaica, I was bounced from one abusive situation to another until at age 14, I was placed in an orphanage. When God gave me my beautiful daughter Aliannah (now age 8), I vowed she would always have a home, with me.

Temporarily, we have had to depend on friends in both Jamaica and the United States. After getting my vocational educational training in hospitality, I landed a job on a Carnival cruise ship that required me to be separated from my daughter for an extended period of time. Though I was able to find temporary care, the separation was extremely difficult for us both. When the coronavirus shut down the cruise ship I worked on, we both rejoiced in the opportunity to reconnect. Although we would love to live in the U.S., the immigration policies would make this nearly impossible. I love beautiful Jamaica and I want to return there with my daughter.

While I am grateful for the care Aliannah has had during my absence, it is vitally important that we be reunited as a family. She needs her mother. I need my daughter. I have always provided for her and I always will. Since Jamaica is a tourist attraction, I know that with my training I can find employment.

But we need a home.  I have no family on whom to rely.  Our U.S. family and friends want to help us build a small house, but we will need others to help.

Please help!  No donation is too small. Please, Aliannah is counting on us!
