A home for Julie and the boys

Donation protected
I am humbly writing to help my daughter Julie and my grandsons Bryant, Brandon, and Justen with help for a down payment for a purchase of a home.

Julie has been approved for a 40B affordable housing purchase of a 3 bedroom condo for herself and her 3 boys.  She was approved because of her need for a 3 bedroom and her income level. The price of the home is meant to be affordable, however with closing costs and rising interest rates, her payment per month for the next 30 years is not affordable to her, therefore she may lose her ability to purchase the home if she does not have a larger down payment.

A little history to try to help people understand why I am trying to help my daughter with this purchase.  Julie has struggled for the past 17 years trying to raise her children alone. The boys father is not a part of their lives.  I have lived out of state for much of their lives but  have been involved with helping raise the boys by providing camp time in the summers, music lessons as well as fishing trips at the end of school years. I help out with anything I can to provide shelter, food and clothing.  However, I alone cannot help her with a purchase this large.

Bryant and Brandon are 17 year old twins and despite their circumstances and having no male figure in their lives, they have turned out to be extremely good, kind, well adjusted young men.  Bryant plays football for Falmouth High School as well as Basketball;  he is quite good at both sports and plays almost the entire time for football each game. Bryant has inspirations of going to a music school for Electronic music production. Since he was a toddler; he would do beats with pencils or anything he could get his hands on.  We have visited Berklee School of Music in Boston, which inspired him immensely.

The other twin, Brandon, is in the Civil Air Patrol and enjoys Xbox games.  Brandon will be playing Lacrosse this spring. He has a strong interest in the Air Force and hopes to attend ROTC.  His love of flying came when a friend of ours took both boys for a ride in their plane when the boys were about 5 years old.  Ever since then he has had a fascination with all aircraft.

Justen, who is 6 years old, is a boy who will  keep you entertained with his enormous sense of humor, infectious laughter and delightful conversation.  Justen likes to draw; when given canvas and acrylics, he will amaze you with his sense of color and abstract ability.

At one point about 6 years ago, Julie was forced to go into a homeless shelter with the boys.
It was so heartbreaking for everyone that this was something they had to experience.  Julie worked her way out of the shelter by securing a good job and getting a townhouse rental. It took awhile but she was able to accomplish it.  It was still a struggle though with all of the expenses it takes to raise 3 boys. Since then, she has moved on to better paying jobs and now has successfully landed a great position with the town she lives in with all of the benefits a town job provides.  With each job change, Julie has climbed to better heights.

Julie  wants to provide a safe home in a neighborhood and town for her boys.  A home they can call home for many many years.
However it looks like she may not be able to afford the monthly payment without  a larger down payment. I am writing to try to help her attain the purchase of this home, since the Massachusetts housing has approved her for this purchase of an affordable home because she has met their requirements.

I would never have thought about anything like a Go Fund Me program, but when I started thinking about it, I thought maybe this might work for her. I am looking for whatever amount you may be able to provide; our goal is $15,000.

I thank you for any amount you may be able to donate, Julie is a dedicated  hard worker who does not expect anything for free. She has some money for closing costs, but It is not enough to have an affordable monthly payment and to secure the loan for mortgage.

Again, Julie like all mothers loves her boys and wants to provide the best she can for them; hopefully with all of our help, she will be able to attain this goal.

I thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.

Sincerely,

Julie’s mother
