A Helping Hand for Bart!

On the Eve of Christmas 2017, Bart was celebrating a family dinner with his 6 month old first Son and extended Family. Upon waking that exact morning, Bart had a minor Sore back however as the day progressed, the severity of pain which he was getting from his back was a concern to go to the local hospital. This hospital visit which was only meant to be a quick check up resulted in a very long stay with a unfortunate diagnoses of a rare disease called Gullian Barre Syndrome.
From this day, Bart became paralyzed from the chin down. He was unable to breathe, talk or move any muscles and became a quadriplegic with the only movement of his eyes.
With a 6 month old at home, and his wife Sue due to go back to work after her Maternity Leave, life became much harder! Sue, a nurse herself, had to be strong for not only her 6 month old but mostly for her husband. With a demanding job, a mortgage, a baby, and the toll of running back and forth from the hospital, Sue has been a very strong person and is continuing to do whatever she can do to keep the family bond tight and strong.
However, the doctors have recently given the news that it may be very unlikely that Bart walks within the next 4 years.
Bart will be discharged home in November 2018, and with his discharge comes once again another hurdle. Bart will be needing 24/7 care to feed, move and bathe him, however the home in which Sue and Bart bought not so long ago in Lugarno, with a lot of hard work and dedication will require a lot of renovations in order for Barts return home.
These home renovations include changes to their bathroom, changes to their back verandah, with wheelchair access and much more which will help Sue, Bart and Korey financially.
This will only be a starting point for Sue and Bart and we hope to help them more along the way in order to give Bart and Sue a easy life and future as they raise their beautiful little boy.
