My name is Maria Hammer and I am posting the following on behalf of my niece who is in need of help. This is her story:
In March 2017, while her and her family visited the Philippines to attend the funeral of a family member, 1 year old Baby Johan became ill and was diagnosed with Tuberculosis Meningitis (TB). After spending 52 days in ICU and undergoing four brain surgeries to relieve pressure and a tracheotomy, Baby Johan became visually impaired and is partially paralyzed. We have exhausted our funds and cannot afford to fly home to get the care we need in Australia. It’s going to cost around $30,000 and we have already exhausted more than $30,000 in medical expenses and have nothing left. We also must pay for a nurse to accompany us back home.
